Recurds Privacy Policy

Recurds is an app where people set records, film proof, and try to beat each other's records. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, what it does not, and what you can do about it. Plain language, no lawyer padding.

The short version: Recurds collects your name, a profile photo if you add one, and the recurds, videos, comments, likes and follows you create. It does not collect your email, your phone number, your location, or your contacts. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and it never sells your information. You can delete everything yourself, from inside the app, at any time.

What Recurds collects

Your name. The first name, last name and username you type when you create your account. Your username and photo are shown publicly next to anything you post.
A profile photo, only if you add one. It is resized small and stored with your account.
What you create in the app. The recurds you post — the record title, category, the number you hit, and the proof video you film — plus comments, likes, dislikes, follows and shares.
An account ID. A random ID generated on your device to identify your account. It is not your device's advertising identifier and cannot be used to track you across other apps.
A session token, so the app knows this phone is signed in. It is cleared when you sign out.

What Recurds does not collect

No email address or phone number.
No location data.
No contacts, calendar, or health data.
No payment or financial information.
No advertising identifiers, and no analytics or crash-tracking services.
No tracking, of any kind, across apps or websites.

Your proof videos are public

Recurds requires a proof video for every recurd you post. That video is uploaded to our storage and is publicly viewable inside the app — that is the whole point of the app: other people watch your proof and try to beat it. A still frame from the video is also stored and used as the cover image. Do not film anything you would not want other people to see.

Deleting a recurd deletes its video. Deleting your account deletes every video you ever uploaded.

Camera, microphone, and photo access

Recurds asks for your camera and microphone so you can film proof of a recurd and talk over it, and for your photo library so you can pick a video or photo you already have. The app only opens these when you tap to add a video or a profile photo. You can refuse or revoke any of these in Settings › Privacy & Security on your device, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Where the data is stored

Account information, posts and uploaded videos are stored with Supabase, our hosting, database and file-storage provider, on secure servers on our behalf. Supabase does not use your information for its own purposes. See supabase.com/privacy.

Video frames from a new recurd are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be screened against the posting rules before the recurd goes public. They are used only for that check and are not used to train any model. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

What is public

Recurds is a public app. Your username, profile photo, recurds, proof videos and comments are visible to other people using Recurds. Do not post anything you would not want seen publicly, and do not put personal details like your address or phone number in a recurd title or comment.

Safety, reporting and blocking

Every recurd is screened automatically before anyone else can see it. Anyone can tap Report on a recurd to have it screened again immediately, and reports from several people take it down. Anyone can tap Block on a recurd to remove that person from their app entirely; blocks are managed in Settings › Blocked accounts. Reports are acted on within 24 hours, and accounts that break the rules are removed.

Real people

Recurds does not create fake accounts, bot accounts, or AI-generated videos, and it does not fill your feed with them. Everything you see was posted by a real person, except posts from the official @recurds account, which are labelled "Official Recurds sample" and exist only to show what a recurd looks like.

Children

Recurds is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Deleting your account and your information

You can delete everything yourself, from inside the app.
Tap the settings gear at the top left of the Scroll screen › Delete account › type your password › confirm.

That deletes your account, your name, your username, your profile photo, every recurd you posted, every video you uploaded, and every comment, like, dislike, follow and share you made. It is immediate and permanent, and nothing is retained. You do not need to email us or call us to do it.

If you cannot get into the app for any reason, email drpeterson1212@gmail.com and we will delete it for you within 30 days.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address below. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app.
